10-29-21  THOUGHTS

Ps 123:1-4    To You I lift up my eyes, O You who are enthroned in the heavens!  2  Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the LORD our God, Until He is gracious to us. 3  Be gracious to us, O LORD, be gracious to us, For we are greatly filled with contempt. 4  Our soul is greatly filled With the scoffing of those who are at ease, And with the contempt of the proud.

As I view the world we live in, the CONTEMPT OF THE PROUD is ever-present.  As we see the day approaching,  may we encourage each other increasingly in love and good works.

John 15:17-25    "This I command you, that you love one another. 18  "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. 19  "If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you. 20  "Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21  "But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me. 22  "If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23  "He who hates Me hates My Father also. 24  "If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well. 25  "But they have done this to fulfill the word that is written in their Law, ‘THEY HATED ME WITHOUT A CAUSE.’
Mark 13:13    "You will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.”
Matt 5:10-12    "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  11  "Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.  12  "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Heb 12:1-3    Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2  fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3  For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
1John 3:13     Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you.
2Tim 3:12     Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
John 16:33   "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world."

My Prayer:
O Lord sustain us in an increasingly difficult world.  Fix our hearts on Jesus and the sense of the eternal.  May our eyes see heaven and be blind to the lusts of this earth.  In difficult times, may we feel the pulse of your great love beat within us.  You only are God!  We praise you with thanksgiving.    In the name of our Savior.          Amen
